New CFO/COO Announced at Westminster College 

A new Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, who brings many years of financial, strategy and operating experience in higher education, will be joining Westminster College. 

Kenneth “Ken” Maher will assume his duties at Westminster on August 28, 2017. He currently resides in Schaumburg, Illinois, but is relocating to Columbia, Missouri.

Upon accepting the position Maher stated, “I am excited to join an organization with such a rich history in educating students and developing future leaders. I look forward to being a part of the Westminster community.” 

Maher comes to the College from TCS Education System, a nonprofit education management organization which operated five independent nonprofit colleges, where he was CFO from 2015-2016. In this position, he was accountable for all accounting, finance, treasury, risk management, organizational strategy and development, real estate, credit, and regulatory functions. He improved the financial condition of the organization and led the development of strategic initiatives. 

Prior to his role at TCS Education Systems, he held the position of CFO for Rydin Decal (2012-2015). At Rydin Decal, Maher served as the strategic partner to company ownership and played a key role in driving record earnings for two consecutive years. He spent over nine years with Adtalem Global Education (formerly Devry Education Group) as Senior Director of Finance and Shared-Service Operations (2009-2012), Director of Corporate Development (2006-2009) and Finance Manager of Online Education (2004-2006). 

Other positions have included Vice President of Finance with Insignis, Inc. (2002-2003), Manager of International Finance at GATX (1999-2001), Manager of Transaction Advisory Services at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (1998-1999) and Senior Financial Analyst with General Motors Corporation (1996-1998). 

Maher also served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Captain in military intelligence (2001-2010). During his time in the military, he served a combat tour in Iraq. He was awarded the Iraqi Freedom Campaign Medal, Combat Action Badge, and two Army commendation medals.  

He is supported by his wife Deborah and has one son, Colin, who is a freshman at the University of Notre Dame.
