London to Paris: The Tide of Allied Victory in World War II
In Summer 2023, Westminster students, alumni, and friends of the college are invited to join us on a study abroad experience where we follow in the footsteps of Allied forces as they fought Nazi tyranny in Western Europe.
This eleven-day trip will include unique opportunities and behind-the-scenes tours that no other college can provide due to Westminster’s connections with Sir Winston Churchill and the city of London.
Some highlights of the trip include: visiting the Imperial War Museum and the Cabinet War Rooms in London; a visit to the beaches of Normandy and the American Cemetery; seeing La Pointe du Hoc–the daunting cliff scaled by Allied troops to suppress German gunfire on D-Day; a visit to the Shoah Holocaust Memorial and Museum in Paris, and many more. There will also be time for you to explore other famous sites and take in the rich histories of London and Paris, including taking a Thames River cruise, seeing Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe, and, of course, the Eiffel Tower.
Do not just read about Churchill and the Allied triumph over Hitler’s brutal authoritarianism – see where decisions were made, lives were lost, and where democracy was saved.
The course will run from May 29 through June 8, preceded by a mid-semester class which will provide the historical context for the places we will visit.
*This is one of those rare opportunities that few other colleges can provide. As you are making your plans for the coming school year and beyond, please consider joining us on what promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
If you are unable to join us in person, feel free to join us via Zoom:
