Douglass Day Celebration

Please join us for Douglass Day on February 14 from 11-2 in Library Computer Lab 102! People across campus are joining forces to help celebrate and create Black History together by saving an important figure’s work for the future, and everyone on campus is welcome to join us. We’ll be celebrating Frederick Douglass’ birthday with snacks, songs, and quick talks from national experts as part of the event’s livestream, but the main part of our celebration will be joining over 7000 others at over 120 sites in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Africa to digitize Mary Ann Shadd Cary’s work for future scholars, students, and readers of Black History.
