Cross Country Finalizes Season At NCAA Regionals

The men’s and women’s cross country teams finalized their season at the 2013 NCAA DIII Midwest Regionals Cross Country Championships. The Regionals were held at Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill. on Saturday, November 16.

The women’s cross country team placed 21st out of 38 teams in the 6K race, finishing first for the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC). Seniors Sarah Koestner and Sarah Ogar finished first and second for the Blue Jays, respectively. Koestner placed 75th out of 282 runners with a time of 23:31.3. Ogar placed 93rd with a 23:49.7 time. Following Ogar was: Lily Willis (144th /24:46.8), Rachel Bade (175th /25:23.3), Brier Skogsberg (176th /25:24.8), Claire Gibby (196th /26:07.0) and Tiara Pettijohn (229th /27:37.0).

The men’s cross country team placed 27th out of 39 teams in the 8K race. Senior Matt Borst crossed the line first for the Blue Jays, placing 98th (26:43.1). Sophomore Jesse Edwards finished just seconds later (26:58.7), placing 112th. Juniors Daniel Lindaman and Will Megl finished next, placing 143rd (27:33.3) and 153rd (27:43.4), respectively. Sophomore Nathan Fox finished 224th with a 29:28.4 time. Rounding out the Blue Jays’ team was senior Jake Burch with a 30:57.4 time (247th).
