Students to Gain Insight from Alumni at Career Connections April 27

Westminster students will receive valuable advice on job hunting and career planning from Westminster alumni at the third annual Career Connections event on Thursday, April 27, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m in Coulter Science Center. The event will take place as part of Alumni Weekend 2017.

Alumni from various industries will provide insight into different career pathways in their fields, job search and networking tips, and feedback during mock interview sessions. This event allows students to ask questions that they would not be able to ask a potential employer.

Alumni and friends will be organized into panels based on professions, including the following areas: Business, Education, Healthcare, Law, Information Technology, Nonprofit, Public Affairs, Marketing/Communications and Graduate Programs. The schedule for the evening is as follows:

4:00-4:30 Mock Interviews

4:35-5:05 Panel Session 1

5:10-5:40 Panel Session 2

5:40-6:00 Mix and Mingle

Ninety-six percent of Westminster graduates accept a job or start graduate school within six months after graduation. This impressive placement rate is due in part to the College’s dedicated network of alumni eager to offer guidance and networking opportunities to current students, as well as the efforts of Westminster’s excellent Center for Career Development. These two valuable resources partner each year to host Career Connections, offering a powerful opportunity for students to prepare for futures of success, significance and service.
