Pulling Together in Anticipation of New Student Convocation

President and Mrs. Lamkin, members of Cabinet, the Blue Jays football team, and other Westminster staff members pulled together — literally — this week for a campus beautification project. The College pulled weeds, mulched, and performed other basic landscaping tasks in anticipation of the Fall 2019 semester.

Most pressing for the affectionately dubbed “Westminster Presidential Landscaping Team” was the upcoming New Student Convocation Ceremony, which takes place Saturday, Aug. 17, at 2 p.m.

As is the hallowed tradition at the College, Convocation is made up of two distinct ceremonies, and one takes place entirely outside on The Hill: Freshmen and transfer students ceremonially pass through The Columns before proceeding to Champ Auditorium for the Convocation Lecture. This year’s Convocation speakers are Misty Todd, MD, ’13 and Matt Roehrs, DO, ’13 ΔTΔ of Columbia, MO.

Thank you to the Westminster Community for your personalized touch in beautifying The Hill for this time-honored tradition!
