Follow Humanity for Children’s Summer in Rwanda

Humanity for Children Rwanda Summer 2014

Eleven volunteers, including Westminster professor Dr. Bob Hansen, have traveled to Rwanda with Humanity for Children, a local non-profit which seeks to improve medical and economic conditions in local villages. Follow their summer journey as volunteers share news and updates from their work. Here’s an excerpt from the most recent blog from Enni Kallio, recent Westminster grad:

“Most of Rwanda is like Mvumba; rural villages connected to bigger cities with a dirt road where walking is the best mean of transportation, people do not have cars, children wake up early in the morning to fetch water down from the valley, there is no electricity, most of the people rely on farming and they trade whatever they harvest with others in their village. Who would have guessed that in the far corner of the Mvumba village we would find a group of young entrepreneurs, advised by an elder in the village, who had started a bee-keeping business …”
