Can You Name This Furry “Alumnus” Who Sally Reynolds Loved?

This four-legged Westminster “alumnus” was a campus favorite of Sally Reynolds, former Career Services Director. Reynolds worked at Westminster from 1968 to 1998 and sadly passed away on March 29, 2020.

News of Reynolds’ passing prompted an outpouring of memories about the former staff member from many alumni. One such memory included the following note from Brock Ayers, ’82 ΔΤΔ.

“This was the Westminster College campus dog,” Ayers explains of the photo he snapped of the dog at Westminster in 1982. “He had favorite classes he attended and seemed to know the difference between Monday/Wednesday/Friday and Tuesday/Thursday classes.”

Ayers further explains that the dog in question especially liked Dr. Bob Hoerber, Dr. Bill Bleifuss and Campus Security staff member Sgt. Blood.

“He loved hanging out on the Hill,” Ayers remembers, adding that Reynolds was so fond of the dog, she stashed a copy of this photo near her desk.

Can anyone in the alumni community name this canine? Can you tell us where he lived and how many years he “attended” Westminster? The first person to properly identify the furry alumnus will be announced in next week’s Westminster Today. And feel free to let us know about other campus pets from days gone by. Email your responses to westminstertoday@westminster-mo.edu or Sarah.Backer@westminster-mo.edu.
