Blue Jays Reset Two Records At Principia Relays

Elsah, Ill. – While attending the Principia Relays on Friday, the Westminster Blue Jays reset two modern day school records.

The women’s 2×400-meter relay team, comprised of  jr. Amanda Killgore, jr. Nyima Njie, jr. Tanisha Terrell and sr. Sarah Ogar, set the modern day record after placing third with a time of 1:54.89.

Sophomore Jesse Edwards broke the 3000-meter run modern day record, placing 6th with a 9:26.71 time. Following Edwards was junior Daniel Lindaman (9th/9:41.99) and senior Jake Burch (14th/10:40.35).

Senior Sarah Koestner placed first in the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:31.44, and Ogar placed second in the 500-meter dash, finishing just seconds after first place with a 1:26.53 time.

The women’s 1600 sprint medley team, comprised of Njie, Terrell, Killgore and Brier Skogsberg, placed third, finishing in 4:42.65.

Njie placed eighth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.44, and Terrell finished with a time of 8.80.

The women’s distance medley team (Rachel Bade, Ogar, Koestner and Skogsberg) placed fifth with a 13:30.14 time.

Senior Matt Borst placed 9th with a 4:45.19 one mile run. Freshman Ryan Dyer finished in 4:59.33.

Three Blue Jays placed in the 60-meter dash on the men’s side. Freshman Kendy Lamour placed 31st with a 7.64 time. Crossing shortly after him was junior Michael Lutz with a time of 7.97, and freshman Raul Belman-Romero finished in 8.48 seconds.

The men’s distance medley team (Borst, Edwards, Lindman, Dyer) placed sixth, finishing in 11:23.50.

The Blue Jays will compete in the Missouri Invitational in Columbia, Missouri next Friday, February 7.
