Blue Blazers Prepare for February Trip to NYC

Members of the Blue Blazers Investment Committee will have the opportunity to explore the financial world of Wall Street and learn from New York financial advisors when they travel to New York City February 19-23, 2014.

The Blue Blazers, one of Westminster’s most exclusive student organizations, is an investment club that manages real funds from the College’s endowment.  The students do extensive research and then buy and sell stock to build and manage an actual investment portfolio.  Part of the profits from these investments funds their trip to Wall Street.  Gaining such valuable, real world experience gives students an edge in today’s highly competitive job market.

The trip is being planned and coordinated by Brock Ayers ’82, the founder of the Blue Blazers Investment Committee and mentor to the group.  Ayers is also a member of the Westminster College Board of Trustees.
