Men’s Tennis Overpowers Greenville, 6-3

The Westminster men’s tennis team grabbed their first victory with a 6-3 win over Greenville College on Tuesday, April 8. The Westminster Blue Jays are now 1-1 in conference play and 1-8 overall.

Junior Tyler Wollmershauser and senior Alec Belden won their doubles match in the one spot, 8-3, and sophomore Kyle Collins and freshman Scott Strough won theirs 9-7 to head into singles play with a 2-1 lead.

T. Wollmershauser won in the one singles with a score of 0-6, 6-4, 6-1. Belden took the two’s spot 6-1 and 6-2. Junior Nathan Connell (Branson, Mo. /Branson) won the three’s spot with a 6-1 and 7-5 victory, and Collins rounded out the match win with a score of 6-4 and 6-3 in the fourth spot.

The Blue Jays will host Webster University on Thursday, April 10. Play will start at 4:00 p.m. at the Elder Tennis Courts.
