Men’s Soccer Advances To Second Round Of NCAA Tournament

The Westminster men’s soccer team pulled the 1-0 upset over Carleton College on Saturday, November 16, in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. The lone goal was scored by sophomore Samuel Lopez off an assist from freshman Josh Jaycox in the 84th minute.

Freshman goalkeeper Raul Belman Romero had four saves on the shut out, improving his season record to 10-5. The Blue Jays took a total of eight shots with three being on goal in the second half.

The Blue Jays will face Gustavus in the second round of the NCAA Tournament tomorrow, Sunday November 17, at 1:30 p.m. The game will be streamed live here.
