Groundbreaking Set For New Mueller Stadium at Westminster College

Westminster College officials and local dignitaries will gather at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, for the official groundbreaking of the new Mueller Stadium at Priest Field on Hickman Avenue in Fulton, Missouri.

The public is invited to attend.

The new athletic stadium is being made possible due to a $3 million gift from Westminster alumnus Kent Mueller ’62 ΣΑΕ and his wife Judy from Paradise Valley, Arizona.

“Judy and I have been blessed in life, and one of our greatest joys has been to help give Westminster students the best academic experience possible,” says Mueller. “Westminster gave me the knowledge, tools and drive to enthusiastically pursue everything I needed to be successful in my personal and professional life, and I want to give back so future generations of our students can receive the same excellent education I received at Westminster.”

This will be the largest capital improvement project on the Westminster campus in over a decade.

The new athletic stadium project encompasses the stadium structure itself, turf, scoreboard, lights, bleachers, press box, concessions, restrooms, and other facility enhancements.

The turf is on track to be ready for the fall 2018 football season.

The Muellers’ past generosity is responsible for the Mueller Leadership Hall and Mueller Student Center on campus.

“Kent and Judy’s strong support for our students, programs, and facilities have helped make Westminster the excellent college it is today,” says President Fletch Lamkin. “Now, thanks to them, our student-athletes will have the quality athletic facilities they deserve. The Westminster Movement is leading our college into a new era of success.”
