FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fulton, Mo. ‒ March 21, 2025: Westminster is pleased to announce that Alyssa (Baker) Lankford of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Class of 2014, will receive the College’s Young Alumni Achievement Award on April 12 during Alumni Weekend.

Lankford is an attorney at McAfee & Taft in Oklahoma City who served for two years as a federal judicial clerk to the Honorable Glenn T. Suddaby, then-chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York.

Lankford graduated with a degree in transnational studies and Spanish from Westminster, where she was involved with a variety of campus organizations, including Student Ambassadors, Student Foundation and Kappa Alpha Theta. She then spent two years as a full-time elementary school teacher and part-time elementary content specialist with Teach for America.

In 2019, Lankford graduated with distinction from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where she served as the editor-in-chief of the American Indian Law Review, volunteered as a court-appointed special advocate for CASA, received multiple awards for academic excellence and was inducted into the National Order of Scribes. At graduation, Lankford received the Professional Responsibility Award, which is voted on by members of the graduating class and awarded to the graduating student who best exemplifies the spirit of professional responsibility and leadership.

Outside of work, Lankford gives back to her community through her involvement with the Innovative Board of the Children’s Health Foundation: a nonprofit organization that supports research, education and care of children in Oklahoma. The foundation’s mission is uniquely personal to Lankford, who is an adolescent bone cancer survivor.

In her free time, Lankford enjoys spending time with her husband, Andrew Lankford, Class of 2014 and a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, their son, Reid and their two dogs. Lanford loves to read, spend time outside and travel.

The Young Alumni Achievement Award recognizes alumni who demonstrate the Westminster mission through outstanding achievement early (within five to 15 years) in their chosen career and/or dedicated leadership and service to their community.
