Special Alumni Weekend 2016 Panel: The Importance of a #girlsquad
Coming Alumni Weekend 2016 … #WCGirlSquad
Although glass ceilings are continually being broken in the business world, women still face tough and unique challenges when it comes to career development, adapting within male-driven environments, pushing themselves outside of their comfort zones and making decisions where their personal priorities intersect with career goals and ambitions. Female support and advice can be instrumental in helping women navigate the working world after college graduation. That’s where the #GirlSquad comes in.
During Alumni Weekend 2016 (April 21 – 24), current students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends are invited to join a diverse group of Westminster College alums at the Celebrating Women of Westminster lunch, scheduled for noon on Saturday, April 23 in the Mueller Student Center in Mueller Leadership Hall. Celebrating more than 35 years of Westminster women, the lunch will include an alumni panel discussion: The Power of #WCGirlSquad.
For the alumni panel, six Westminster alumni — women whose lives after college have been significantly impacted by supporting one another as they forged ahead in life, education, careers and friendship — will discuss how their #girlsquad helped them face challenges and develop as they’ve grown their careers and nurtured their personal lives, especially as they’ve created their own paths of balance between these competing priorities.
This year’s panel features the following Westminster women:
- Jessica Bass Bolander ’05 is the sales vice president of client development with
UnitedHealthCare’s National Accounts division, where she works with the creation and implementation of a business development and marketing strategy focused on matching UnitedHealthcare’s solutions to the unique needs of large, complex and multi-location employers in the southwestern region of the United States. She lives in Dallas with her husband, Tyler, and 1-year-old son, James.

She lives in Dallas with her husband, Tyler, and 1-year-old son, James.- Elizabeth (Liz) Icenogle ’05 is director of governmental affairs and international programs for ARMA International, where, as a member of the not-for-profits’ executive team, she creates and implements strategy while focusing on member value throughout the association’s portfolio of offerings, primarily concentrating on government affairs, international programs and external partnerships. Icenogle lives in Kansas City, Missouri, with her husband and Great Dane.

She earned her JD from the University of Tulsa College of Law and now lives in Texas with her husband, John, and two children, Jack and Annabeth.
Sarah Goss Powers, JD ’04 is a real estate attorney based in Forth Worth, Texas, whose interest in law began during her tenure as a congressional liaison assistant with the United States Department of Homeland Security, where she acted as a liaison between DHS and Congress. She earned her JD from the University of Tulsa College of Law and now lives in Texas with her husband, John, and two children, Jack and Annabeth.- Jennifer Swan Lee, JD ’04 is senior counsel at Fidelity National Title Group, where she works exclusively for the senior executive president of the company handling legal matters ranging from title insurance practices to advising on federal and state political contribution matters. She earned her JD from the University of Tulsa College of Law. She lives in Jacksonville, Florida, with her husband, Phillip Lee ’04, and their two children.
