Jeanneane Dixon Maxon To Receive Young Alumni Achievement Award

Jeanneane Dixon Maxon from Arlington, VA, Class of 2002 and a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority, will receive the Young Alumni Achievement Award given at a special Alumni Honors Convocation Ceremony to be held at 10:30 a.m., April 23, during Alumni Weekend in the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury on the Westminster College campus in Fulton, MO.

Maxon is General Counsel and Vice President of External Affairs for Americans United for Life.

“Jeanneane has won numerous awards for her work over the years as a litigator and for her work in other nonprofit organizations and her current position,” says Dr. Jamie Kondis, Class of 2002, who was one of last year’s award winners.  “She is undoubtedly one of Westminster’s most prominent recent graduates and the College could not find anyone better to receive this year’s Young Alumni Achievement Award.”

The Young Alumni Achievement Award is presented annually to recognize alumni who demonstrate the Westminster mission through outstanding achievement early in their chosen career and/or dedicated leadership and service to their community and who have graduated within 5-15 years.  Established in 2009, the Young Alumni Achievement Award is approved by the Alumni Council and given to up to two alumni each year at Alumni Weekend.  The Young Alumni Achievement Award requires a motion and vote from the Board of Trustees for approval.

Upon graduating from Westminster,  Maxon was accepted to a variety of law schools, including Harvard Law School, and chose to attend Boston University School of Law with a full scholarship.  After graduating top in her class, she worked as a litigator for a top law firm: Divine, Milliment and Branch.

Currently she serves as general counsel and Vice President of External Affairs for Americans United for Life, the nation’s largest pro-life organization.  Through her work with this organization, she devotes her life to tirelessly protect the unborn.

She has been featured in national publications, on national news programs and is a constant feature in social media, on air and in print.
