Alumni Weekend Offers Wide Range of Activities for Returning Alumni

The upcoming Westminster College Alumni Weekend offers a wide range of activities from the ceremonial to the celebratory April 27-30.

A centerpiece of the weekend will be the Alumni Award Convocation ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury when nine outstanding alumni will be honored for their contributions to Westminster and society and the Remley Women’s Award  will be presented.

The Old Guard Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday in the Hermann Lounge for all alumni in classes 50 years and older and the honored 50-year class, the Class of 1967, will be saluted at a Golden Anniversary Dinner at 7 p.m. that evening at the Fulton Country Club.

Friends of retiring Westminster professors Dr. Linda Aulgur and Dr. Glen Frerichs will have the opportunity to wish them well at a reception at 3:30 p.m. on Friday in the Coulter Science Center Atrium.

Athletic enthusiasts will enjoy the Annual Golf Tournament on Friday at Tanglewood Golf Course with a 10 a.m. tee off time; a women’s alumnae basketball game at noon Saturday and a men’s alumni basketball game at 3 p.m., both in the Historic Gym;  college baseball games against Webster University that day at noon and 2 p.m.; and softball alumni activities from 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday,

Entertainment will include a joint cocktail party with William Woods University alumni at 5 p.m. on Friday night in Backer Dining Hall followed by the Churchill Singers Annual Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury and the Fulton downtown Morels and Microbrews Festival from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Court Street Saturday with a Bands and Beer Garden event that night at 7 p.m. under the tent, featuring popular local bands The Madison Letter and Five Turn Knot.
