Alumni Story: From Poli Sci to the St. Louis Cardinals, Rob Fasoldt, ’98

A former political science major and Blue Jay baseball player, Rob Fasoldt, Class of 1998, serves as Director, Ticket Sales and Services, for the St. Louis Cardinals. He is a key organizer and supporter for the annual Westminster Night at Busch Stadium.

Read on for a Q&A with Rob about his career and his Westminster experience.

What do you do for the St. Louis Cardinals?

I have the honor of helping to steer the quality of the Cardinals customer service, sales, and logistics, as they relate to tickets.

What other organizations are you involved in?

I volunteer for the Central Institute for the Deaf and the St. Louis AlS Association and also serve the Rawlings Sports Business Management Program at Maryville University as an adjunct professor.

What role did Westminster play in leading you to your current position/studies?

Westminster taught me the value of relationships.  Whether it was my experience learning from a coach or a professor or participating on a project with my fraternity, Westminster quite often put me in a position to learn the skills necessary to communicate and achieve my goals.

Which of your achievements are you most proud of?  What do you consider your greatest success?

My family.  I have two beautiful children (Luke, 3 years, and Reagan, 1) and my wife of eight of years, Melissa.

How did your Westminster education inspire your achievements?

My degree in Political Science and my interactions with faculty forced me to become a critical thinker, problem solver, and a strong communicator.

What successes and achievements do you envision in your future?  What are your goals?

I hope to achieve success as a father and husband, first and foremost.  I really have a passion for mentoring young people who have an interest in working in the sports industry, and I hope to continue to find ways to help people achieve their dreams of working in sports.

Do you recommend Westminster to prospective college students? Why?

I do.  I feel Westminster provides a personalized approach to success due to the size and legacy of school.  For young people interested in taking advantage of their college years, I always recommend Westminster for not only the four years of education and schooling, but for the lifetime of relationships gained from the Westminster experience.
