Back-to-School Tips Broadcast Live from Westminster College

If you’re local and happened to switch on the early morning news last week, you might have caught a glimpse of our own Madison Shaw ’17, Director of Greek Life. KRCG TV13 Live at Sunrise in Jefferson City, MO, recently featured Westminster College in two live morning segments.

The stories that aired Monday, Aug. 12, 2019, covered a variety of tips for incoming freshmen, from how to decorate dorm rooms to how to get involved on the Westminster campus for a better student experience.

Also featured in a separate live interview and written report by KRCG staff members was a conversation with Dean of Student Life Dr. Kasi Lacey, who emphasized that Westminster pays close attention to student dorm room applications. She said the College makes extraordinary efforts to pair roommates up appropriately through special lifestyle applications.

“We often tell students to be really open and honest on their forms so when we do housing selection we pair them up based on lifestyle preferences,” Lacey said. “If someone is little more tidy or likes to get up early, those things are important for us to know so we can match them up with their ideal roommate.”
