Top Academic Students and Faculty Recognized at Alpha Chi Honors Dinner

On April 26, 2017, members of the Missouri Delta chapter of Alpha Chi gathered at Westminster College to recognize new inductees and special faculty members. Founded in 1922, Alpha Chi is a national honor society for undergraduate juniors and seniors in all academic disciplines. The top 10 percent of Westminster seniors and the top 5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership in the Missouri Delta Chapter of Alpha Chi. This chapter is a 15-time winner of Alpha Chi’s Star Chapter Award as one of the nation’s most outstanding chapters.

Karley Long ’17, chapter president, welcomed the attendees, and Dr. David Jones, faculty sponsor, provided opening remarks. Keith Hardeman was honored as faculty member of the year, and faculty members Bob Cowles and Ann Lael were recognized for their contributions to Westminster. The dinner’s keynote speaker was Dr. Misty Todd ’13.

Westminster officially inducted its newest Alpha Chi members on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 8:30 am in the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury.

The Missouri Delta Chapter of Alpha Chi at Westminster College was founded on September 24, 1975, with the induction of 20 charter members. The chapter was a finalist for the President’s Cup for the nation’s most outstanding chapter in 2011 and in 2013.
