2017 Outstanding Male Senior of the Year: Jeremy Hill
Above, Jeremy Hill ’17 gives a speech for the prestigious Skulls of Seven honor society. Jeremy was a member of the organization and served as Grand Marshall.
Jeremy Hill ’17 is one of two recipients who received the Alumni Association Outstanding Senior of the Year Award, Westminster’s most prestigious award for graduating seniors, during commencement on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Each year, one graduating male and one graduating female receive this award granted by the Alumni Association for living a life of success, significance, and service while at Westminster College. This year’s female recipient was Roberta Burns ’17. Read about Roberta’s experience at Westminster here.
Majoring in business administration and exercise science, Jeremy, who is from Ashland, Missouri and attended Southern Boone County High School, strove to be a leader on campus while maintaining a high standard of academic performance. Jeremy took advantage of the involvement opportunities Westminster had to offer and participated in several organizations, both in Greek life and outside Greek life, and in them, served leadership roles.
On top of his campus involvement and time spent working, Jeremy made the Dean’s List seven semesters and earned membership in multiple honor societies — Alpha Lambda Delta, Delta Mu Delta, and Alpha Chi — for his academic performance.
Jeremy calls his experience at Westminster “great,” saying, “I got to experience life with a roommate, life on my own, and [I] matured exponentially.”
In addition, Jeremy says Westminster taught him how to learn and how to teach himself. “I learned a lot about my two fields of study, business and exercise science, but what Westminster really taught me was how to learn and teach myself things that I am interested in,” Jeremy says.
He notes that his time at Westminster also taught him “how to be a lot better at time management,” other organizational skills, and leadership skills, and it introduced him to people that made a profound impact in his life with whom he says he’ll keep in contact.
As a new Westminster grad, Jeremy began a management career with ALDI in June. Following approximately nine months of district management training, Jeremy expects to receive his assignment — overseeing three to five stores as district manager — in Florida.
Congratulations, Jeremy, and best of luck to you with your future endeavors!
