Jeff Owens elected to Board of Trustees
Jeff Owens ’87 ΒΘΠ of Peoria, Illinois, has been elected to Westminster’s Board of Trustees.
Owens is the Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Technology Services Inc., the global leader in industrial and IT services that helps businesses run smoothly. Founded in 1985, ATS employs 3,400 people and is headquartered in Peoria, Illinois, with offices and service centers in Chicago; Detroit; Greenville, South Carolina; Monterrey, Mexico; and the United Kingdom.
Owens has dedicated his career to building ATS from a small start-up that was spun out of Caterpillar, which developed into an important supplier of manufacturing and IT services for many of the largest manufacturing companies in the world. He started his career in a sales training program after graduating from Westminster in 1987, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
Owens has demonstrated his strong commitment to Westminster by providing opportunities for employment and internships for today’s Westminster students. He was awarded the Westminster College Lifetime Alumni Achievement Award in 2018, and he is also a member of the Chancellor’s Circle, one of the most significant giving societies at Westminster.
He has been a long-term, active member of the Young Presidents Organization and continues to expand his horizons with new experiences and educational opportunities while maintaining a strong network of business leaders around the world. He is an accomplished entrepreneur with experience in growing a company by focusing on culture, quality and people. Owens travels extensively for his business and lives in Peoria with his wife and two children.
The Westminster Board of Trustees exercises the ultimate institutional authority in the management of the affairs of the College. Trustees give their time, talent and resources to safeguard the traditions, assets, and values of the College. They ensure the College’s strategic direction and mission are followed and its enhanced capacity to serve society is met, and they provide oversight and guidance for the activities of the College.
